Risking to incur the wrath of LeChuck, Guybrush has to prove his wit is as sharp as his sword, and figure out a way to foil the ghost pirate's plans. But as Guybrush is trying to complete these tasks, he encounters the lovely governor, and this meeting changes his life forever. At the Scumm Bar he meets three pirates who tell him he has to complete three difficult tasks in order to be worthy of this title.

Meanwhile, a young fellow named Guybrush Threepwood is determined to become a real pirate. As a ghost, he dwells with his undead crew somewhere near the mysterious Monkey Island. The cruel pirate LeChuck is deeply in love with her - so deeply that he refuses to accept his own death. Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal is just the beginning of an excellent graphic adventure series that, while it may not be at the same heights as the original trilogy, is still worthy of the comparison.(one upload of Monkey Island is 1.5 GB which I can't even bother to wait through, the other one is EGA and 1.6 MB and contains a cracked copy protection screen, this one is VGA and 3.1 MB) Deep in the Caribbean lies Melee Island, ruled by the governor Elaine Marley. The game's graphics aren't all that impressive, but its caricature-like character styles fit perfectly with the storyline. The adventure, which has traditional gameplay, continues with the great sense of humor that made the saga famous, including the same crazy situations and touch of romance with the ever-charming Governor Elaine. Of course, he does it all with the 'help' of LeChuck, his eternal foe. In this episode, Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal (the first of five parts), Guybrush inadvertently ends up infecting almost the whole Caribbean pirate population with a voodoo sickness that transforms them into monsters.

Guybrush Threepwood, the spacey but intrepid pirate created by Ron Gilbert, returns in this series of graphic adventures that have managed to revive one of the best video game sagas in history.
